Listening to God’s voice is not an easy thing to do for some people but to others it might be a piece of cake. There are a few things that we need to do in order to understand and listen to God’s voice in any circumstances, especially when reading the Bible. These few things are Surrender,Simplicity, Stillness and Solitude.
Surrender meaning that we should lift up our minds and heart to God so that He can direct our lives in the right path and so that we won’t do the same mistake and fall back to our old sinful lives. Simplicity meaning that when we are alone all you can do is talk to God knowing that He is with us throughout life. Stillness, meaning that we should be able to stay still and focus our point of view to God and God only.Solitude meaning that, in order to listen to God’s voice we might need to be alone to listen carefully what God is trying to tell us.
Obedience is a very important thing when we talk to God. Doing what God want us to do will bring us to a happy ending. For example when we take choices, we might choose what we think is best without asking God’s opinion on what we should do towards the problem or choice taking and this may lead us to taking the wrong move or choice. So once we hear what God says to us we should know that it is for the best of us, He knows what’s best for us.
Applying it to our daily life may be hard, but we need to give it a shot. For instance in school we can apply it by being a good friend. We should have a base for our friendship and we need a strong base. That base is God because when we have a God friendship base, the friendship will be stronger as time pass and not weaker. When problems hits and the friendship is about to fall apart , God will surely hold it together no matter what happens. If Springfield students all have a God based friendship, there will be no more conflicts.
